What Your Support Means to Us

SMYSP believes that helping low-income and ethnically diverse students reach their own educational goals is ultimately the most effective way to help improve the health-care services available to underserved and low-income communities.

Mission

Since 1988, the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program has worked to increase knowledge about the sciences and health professions, and offer guidance about the college admissions process to low-income and/or underrepresented minority students.

Value

SMYSP supports Stanford’s outreach efforts toward academically talented low-income and underrepresented minority high school students, raising awareness of Stanford in diverse communities. SMYSP thereby helps change the course of science and medical education by affirming the value of diversity and academic opportunities for all students as core Stanford values.
